when choosing your plus size

Don't be bullied by other peoples’ opinions when it comes to your wedding
dress, as it’s probably the most important dress you will ever wear.
Everyone has his or her own ideas about what makes the perfect wedding
dress. You can listen to what others have to say, but it's your wedding dress and, your friends and family will
be on your side on the day anyway - whatever you choose!
Ask yourself a few questions !
* Know your shape ! What do I want to emphasise, and what do I want to hide?
* Which tones suit my colouring? When you think about your current wardrobe - do you feel great in white, or do you
prefer creamier colours?
* Do I want to look shorter or taller?
* Do I want a plain and unadorned look, or an elaborately decorated look, or somewhere in between?
* Would I prefer a Contemporary look, a Vintage look (e.g. 1960s) or even a mediaeval
look?
Once purchased and, if necessary, your wedding dress can be altered by your local
seamstress.
Shopping for that plus size wedding dress:
It seems there are now as many ways to purchase a bridal gown as there are bridal gowns! Full service
bridal salons, Internet discounters, warehouses and more are all competing for your business. Regardless of where
and how you order a plus size wedding dress, some things are the same. A sales contract will be required; you will
need to select your size, and more...
Some more tips:
Sometimes local thrift shops offer some excellent buys. Plus size wedding dresses that have been
worn only once and that have been professionally cleaned are no problem. Designer cast-offs may cost more,
but sometimes you can find a real steal.
To ensure that you get just what you’re wanting, there are some things you need to look into before
you even look at your first plus size wedding dress. For example - the bridal store. You may need to make an appointment before you visit the shop. Give them a phone call to make
sure. You also need to enquire as to whether the store carries plus size wedding dresses you
can afford and, whether you can you browse the whole collection. Another question to ask is if the shop
doesn’t carry the wedding dress you love, can it be ordered?
There are still more questions you need to ask yourself:
What's your budget ?
Let's be honest. Some wedding dresses can be ultra expensive. However, by undertaking some good
research you can find a dream wedding dress that fits your budget. And don't forget - if you find the perfect
designer gown but it's outside your price range, then ask the retailer for a lesser priced dress in similar
styles. Occasionally, the price difference between the designer plus size wedding dress and a less expensive
one is the type of lace, beading or fabric. There’s also an increasing number of high quality, but
relatively cheap plus size wedding dresses on the market.
